When Heike Schmidt in November 07 told me about her new project ‘Prayer’, I was immediately intrigued by it. Not at least because she wanted to focus on prayer movements. Over the last decades, there is already much said and written about the words one uses while praying, but not about the movements. I know Catholics make a signal with their hands and Muslims kneel down, but how do Protestants pray? And Hindus? And what does the way people pray tell about their believe? And how is praying integrated in their daily live? All these questions will be researched by in this project and that interests me. Moreover Heike also wants to tell something about the dialogue between body and mind, between here and there. And isn’t that what live is all about?
